 Christian Education

"Your word is a lamp unto
my
feet, and a light
upon my path."
Psalm 9:105

FOR ADULTS:
Education and training in the Christian faith, especially in the study of the Bible, are essential aspects of parish life at St. Christopher's Church. We offer a variety of opportunities to enrich and deepen one's faith in a warm community of fellowship.

  • Christian Education - Sundays, 9:15-10:15 a.m.
  • Special Guest Lecturers and Lecture Series
  • 2:42 Groups - take their name from Acts 2:42 which says of the early church, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."  These small groups meet regularly for Bible study and prayer in homes. In most groups, there is an opening prayer, some kind of opening activity (often it's singing or an ice-breaker question), a Bible study discussion, time for catching up with one another, sharing of prayer requests, and prayer.
  • Wells Library contains resources for all ages. Continually updated, it currently contains 2,000+ titles in the form of books, videos, music CDs, and teaching cassettes. A growing selection of periodicals with traditional as well as contemporary Christian themes is maintained.

FOR CHILDREN:
Our church community fully supports our children in their spiritual growth. It is important for parents to have a caring environment for their children to be educated in their faith. In our classes, we have wonderful age-appropriate materials, excellent, committed teachers, and an earnest interest in seeing our childrens' faith in and love for Jesus Christ to grow.  Our goal is to give them knowledge of God's love to support them through a lifetime and to impart the yearning to serve Christ.

  • Christian Education - Sundays, 9:15-10:15 a.m.
  • Children's Worship is held during the 10:30 Sunday service where children participate in a special service of songs and stories just for them.  Children rejoin their families in the church for communion.
  • Primary Youth Group for ages K-5th is offered each Wednesday night from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  A Bible lesson is taught and reinforced using crafts and fun.
  • Vacation Bible School is offered in the summer for children K-5th grades.  Youth in grades 6-12 serve as leaders, along with adults, for the week.
