"For where two or three are gathered in my Name,
I am there among them."
Matthew 18:20
All of us long for rich, lasting relationships. For friends who love and accept us. Friends to play and pray with. Friends who will help us become all God intended us to be. Small groups are where these friendships develop. Our small groups, called 2:42 Groups, are meetings of 5-15 people who gather each week to build one another up in the faith through "abiding in the Apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers." The name comes from Acts 2:42 which reports that it was through these four elements that the early Church grew and flourished. Acts 2:42 is also the basis for the first promise of the Baptismal Covenant found in the Book of Common Prayer on page 304.
Small Groups meets for 1 1/2 to 2 hours weekly at the church. We begin with a common meal and some worship through singing, then we break for different studies. In this casual atmosphere, you'll talk about what's going on in your lives. You'll relate critical life issues to the Bible. You'll learn more about St. Christopher's and how you can make a difference in what God is doing. 2:42 Groups help you take what you hear on Sundays and live it out through the week.
There are several 2:42 Groups that meet at different times in different parts of the community. The best way to find a 2:42 Group at St. Christopher's that matches your schedule and interests is to complete the Small Group Application. We'll be happy to help you find the perfect group for you or help you establish a new group.
