A Prayer in time of Transition
For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding.
Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

I attend St. Christopher’s with my college-aged daughter Grace and my parents Marilyn and Doug Hubbell. I’m an English teacher at Spartanburg High School. I grew up at St. Christopher’s and enjoy participating in the worship service as verger, chalice bearer, and bell ringer.
My husband Peter and I have been married for 43 years and have one daughter who grew up at St. Christopher’s. I am the Practice Administrator at Orthopedic Specialties of Spartanburg. I enjoy spending time with my grandsons Tripp and Barnes, arranging flowers, and organizing fellowship events at St. Christopher’s where I have also served on the Mission Committee and as Junior Warden in addition to various other committees.
I’m married to Chris, and we have two young sons, Grant and Miles. I work from home for a library services company, and I manage software to support electronic resources for libraries. My family and I joined St. Christopher’s after we moved to the area in 2019.
My husband Roy and I are both retired, I from a 43-year career teaching high school journalism and photography, and he from industrial engineering in textiles. We both love horses and dogs and used to own a horse farm where we taught lessons. I have a daughter who is married with three children. I was confirmed at Calvary Episcopal Church, Glenn Springs, 40 years ago and served as lay reader, chalice bearer, and mission committee member at St. Margaret’s, Spartanburg, before coming to St. Christopher’s in 2019.
I am married to Kris, my husband of 20 years and we have three children. I have been an elementary school teacher for children with special needs for 22 years. From the first time I walked into St. Christopher’s sanctuary 28 years ago, I have always wanted it to be my home parish.
My wife, Mary Ann Keating Palmer, of 52 years, and I enjoy our travels which have taken us to all fifty states, beach time with our nieces and nephews who we consider close family, “conversation efforts,” and for me in particular volunteering and hunting. I am a retired audit manager and tax consultant with over 54 years of total experience. Originally from Sumter, I am a cradle Episcopalian and 50-year member of St. Christopher’s having served in numerous capacities from vestry member to church auditor.
I have been attending St. Christopher’s since 2000 when I began dating my now wife Angel. We have two beautiful babies, Samuel (14) and Alexis (10).
