St. Christopher’s Welcomes our New Vicar

The members of the Mission Committee are very pleased to be able to announce that our discernment process to select a new Vicar for St. Christopher’s has come to a successful conclusion. The call has been made to The Rev. Beth Hendrix; she has accepted the call, and Bishop Richards has approved. The Mission Committee was unanimous in its decision to call Mother Beth. All are enthusiastic about having her serve as our Vicar and are optimistic that she, with God’s help,  will lead us as we pray and discern together where God is directing.

Meet Our New Vicar

Mother Beth+ graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2021. Her first call was a curacy as the Canon for Adult Formation and Family Ministries at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Shreveport, LA. Since she returned to Upper SC in May 2022, she has been supply preaching across the diocese, and represented Virginia Theological Seminary at Lambeth Conference.

Mother Beth+ has served in numerous leadership roles across the church such as DEC, the Board of Trustees for The Bishop Gravatt Camp and Conference Center, DYLC Event Planner, USC Canterbury Faculty Representative, and Secretary to Diocesan Convention.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Mother Beth+ grew up in North Augusta, SC. She is an avid golfer, loves history, and is a tinkerer. She has two sons, Preston (32) and Tenison (22), two step-children, Joshua (37) and Jordan (32), and two furbabies, Dolley Madison (almost 1 year old Pembroke Corgi) and Hercules (14 year old Chi-weenie). Her mother, Nancy, and brother, Frank, live in Central Florida.

Almighty and everlasting God, from whom cometh every good and perfect gift: Send down upon our Vicar, Mother Beth, and upon our congregation committed to her charge, the healthful Spirit of thy grace; and, that we may truly please thee, pour upon us the continual dew of thy blessing. Grant this, O Lord, for the honor of our Advocate and Mediator, Jesus Christ. Amen.
